Steven Anthony Gomez

Steven Anthony Gomez, 51, of Clifton, CO, passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary's Hospital due to a sudden illness. He was surrounded by his family. Stevie was born Steven Anthony Gomez on July 4, 1973, in Grand Junction, CO to Steve Joseph Gomez and Juanita Mickey Gomez (Gonzales). Stevie grew up in Grand Junction and attended schools in the Grand Junction area.

Stevie had several different jobs in the past, but one he enjoyed the most was being in the meat processing industry. Stevie absolutely loved music, music of all kinds, but his favorite was old-school rap. He was musically inclined. He could create his own beats and make his own raps.

Stevie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. And when he really was in his social mood, you were very special to him, if you received a phone call or visit.

His joy of life was spending time with his daughter, Mercedez, each visit he cherished with all his heart.

Steve also had a private side to him. He was very reserved, spiritual, caring, forgiving, and above all, humble. Steve had many friends and many were lifelong friends.

Stevie was a known survivor, for in his life he survived several tragedies and life-threatening obstacles.

He will be truly missed by all who loved him and we will miss his smile, laughter, and craziness.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Gomez; daughter, Mercedez Gomez; 8 step-children, Beto, Uriel, Giovoni, Kevin, Isabell, Felicia, Gabriella, and Benz; mother, Mickey Gomez of Grand Junction, sisters; Lizzy Martinez of Grand Junction, CO, Sonya Gomez of Grand Junction; and several cousins, nieces and nephews who he loved very much.

He is preceded in death by his father, Steve J. Gomez; his brother, Andrew J. Gomez; and many other relatives.

Services will take place on September 14, 2024, at True Life Church, 100 Vista Grande Drive, Grand Junction, CO 81507 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow immediately at Orchard Mesa Cemetery. A Dinner Reception will be held at Chipeta Golf Course, 222 29 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81503, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
