The son of Paul Walker and Naomi Salazar Baughman, he was born in Gunnison, a fifth generation Coloradan, and spent his childhood in Denver. A graduate of South High School and the University of Colorado, he was proud to serve as a Green Beret in the Special Forces of the U.S. Army. His varied career included Triple-A minor league baseball, director of Partner’s River Program, river ranger with the Park Service, contractor, and multiple jobs with the Town of Breckenridge and Keystone Resort. His love of baseball started at a young age as a player, continued as a coach for Summit County Youth baseball and Summit High School, and was always a fan of the sport at any level. His greatest joy was his family, especially the addition of grandchildren in recent years. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jennifer Walker, his children Colby Walker (Andrea) and Alexander Walker (Rebecca), three grandchildren and his sister, Janet Stange.
