June 17, 1957 – August 18, 2025
Sue Lea Schneider passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Grand Junction, Colorado after a lifelong courageous battle with epilepsy.
Born in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany, on June 17, 1957 to SGM John Mullen and Carol Mullen. Sue and her siblings tagged along as her mother and father moved to military postings in Germany and the United States. Sue graduated from McClure North High School in Florissant, MO. She relocated for a final time to Grand Junction, CO after high school, where she studied at Mesa College.
Sue thrived in Grand Junction with the support of her beloved grandmother Margaret Mullen, her aunt, uncle and cousins. She married Christian Sieloff in 1979. He passed away in 1980. She found happiness and adventure in her marriage to Ed Schneider April 14, 1990. They enjoyed years of deep faith together until his passing June 6, 2019.
Sue had a passion to serve others. Although her debilitating illness prevented her from pursuing a career, she volunteered as a caregiver and at several local food pantries. She provided shelter to individuals in need and sincere prayers to many. Always busy, Sue loved crafting, gardening, reading and organizing. Ed and Sue travelled by motorcycle visiting family and friends across the country.
Her faith was strong and she devoted much time to bible studies and church activities at Bookcliff Baptist Church, Palisade Church of the Nazarene and Heritage Church in Grand Junction. Learning and growing with the help of those ministries made her happy. Each congregation provided friendship and assistance, for which she was grateful. Family of Ed Schneider also devoted significant energy to help Sue in countless ways.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Christian, husband Ed and loving grandmother Margaret. Survived by siblings Kile Mullen, Florissant, MO; Kevin Mullen, St Charles, MO; Karen (Steve) Miller, Gulfport, FL. Nephew Nicholas Miller resides in Minneapolis, MN.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday August 23, 2025 at Palisade Church of the Nazarene with reception to follow. Martin Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO is providing comfort to the family and cremation.
Sue is relieved of her earthly constraints and safely home in heaven.
