Sylvia Mae Wilson Stapleton died peacefully on 08/31/2025 at HopeWest. Sylvia was born in Owen County, Kentucky. She and her husband, Dale C. Stapleton, began a 69-year journey together on April 14, 1956, at the Southside Baptist Church in Covington, Kentucky. Their daughter, Terri Gail Rahm (Grand Junction, CO) was born 10/06/1958 and son, Gregory Dale Stapleton (deceased) was born 04/08/1961.
Sylvia’s life was an exceptional demonstration of service to others, devotion to Jesus’ directions, caregiving, and gratitude. Her love of others, wisdom in misfortune, gift of faith, kind spirit, and sacrifice without attention are seldom matched. Natural acts of kindness and service to others, not flamboyant heroics, was her recipe for a better world. She consistently helped others find the silver lining in life.
Sylvia’s deep love and devotion to family [husband, daughter and son-in-law, son, three granddaughters, four great-grand-children and two younger sisters (Lou Frank in Georgia and Lynn Voorhees in Indiana)] will be forever cherished. She will be desperately missed.
