Ty Lucas Willis

January 10, 1973 - July 27, 2014

Born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Ty spent his early childhood in Craig and moved with his family to Grand Junction in 1985. He graduated Grand Junction High School in 1991 and studied Business Management at Mesa State College from 1992 to 1995.

In 1999, Ty married Stacy O'Neil and had two children. They later divorced. He married Lisa Cary on October 6, 2012.

In 1989, Ty began his restaurant career at the Ponderosa at the age of 16. He was later employed at Old Chicago from 1996 to 2013 where he served as Kitchen Manager/Assistant General Manager.

Ty loved all sports, especially the Denver Broncos. He also was an avid outdoorsman. Ty never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who met him.

Preceded in death by his step-father, Gary Woodard, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Willis; two children, Jasmine and Tyler Willis; sister, Larissa Hampton, all of Grand Junction; sister, Vonita Youngs (Craig); mother, Sandra Woodard of Grand Junction; step-sister, Belinda Blake and father, Larry (Terry) Willis of Page, AZ; step-brother, Del Willis of Grand Junction, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 at Martin Mortuary on Friday, August 1, 2014.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local Suicide Prevention Programs or Alcohol Counseling Programs of donor's choice.
