Veronica Ortiz Morris, or “Miki” as most people affectionately called her, passed away on July 4, 2022, in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the age of 60. She was born on August 27, 1961, in Montrose, Colorado, to Aurelio “Herk” and Sophie (Gonzales) Ortiz.
Miki was a true native of Colorado; she was raised in Telluride in the 60’s when it was a mining town, then Montrose in the 70’s. A resident of Grand Junction for nearly 40 years, she made her mark in the music scene promoting rock n roll shows with her daughters through their company MBM Promotions. Miki was also known as one of the top 10 reasons for going to Mesa State, as the DJs at KMSA crowned her the “Best Laundry Lady”. She helped show each freshman class for years how to do perfect laundry, and continued doing so by doing Rock Star Laundry...a legacy not to be forgotten by any touring band. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Miki is survived by her daughters, Mandy and Brandy Anstine of Grand Junction; her son, Page (Courtney) Morris of Grand Junction; "son", Cameron King of Grand Junction; her sisters, Dianna Vaughn of Montrose, Connie Brown of Grand Junction, and Louise Poppleton of Delta, Colorado; brothers, Adolph (Sharon) Ortiz of Gunnison, Colorado, and Gary (Tracey) Ortiz of Grand Junction; and numerous nieces and nephews who she adored very much.
Private memorial will be announced by family for a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinMortuary.com for the Morris family.
