Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinMortuary.com for the Young family.Wallace Young, 74 of Delta, Colorado entered Heaven on August 6, 2023.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on May 9, 1949 to Wallace Sr and Maxine Young. During his childhood he was raised on his family farm in Hudson, Colorado.
In 1968 he joined the Army where he served for 6 years. During his service, he was awarded a medal for sharp shooting, but according to his hunting buddies he still couldn’t hit a bull elk when he needed to. Years after his honorable discharge, he attended a University in Columbus Indiana and studied electronics.
Wally met his soul mate, Dale “Dolly” Lewis-Young in 1988 in Severance, Colorado. They were married on January 7, 1989 at Sunnyview Church of the Nazarene in Greeley Colorado. He continued to attend Sunnyview, where he was baptized, until he and Dolly moved to Unaweep Canyon in 1994.
He was an entrepreneur in many different fields during his life, but over the last 35 years he specialized in Bail Bonds, bond recovery, private investigation and real estate. He was a current board member of the Gunnison Valley Church of the Nazarene in Delta, Colorado and former President of the Colorado Professional Bail Bond Association.
No one was a stranger to Wally so he would help anyone out if he could. If he didn’t have the right tool or part, he would improvise to make it happen. He was a natural born MacGyver.
Wally and Dolly had a blended family of 12 kids, Anthony (Wendy), Wallace III, Jill (Peter), Carrie (Ted), Joanna (Chuck), Tona (Rick), Tina (Ron), Deana (Tam), Lena, Lyle (Kristina), Wade (Stacy), Star (Michael) with an army of 33 grandkids and 30 great-grandkids.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Dolly Young, 10 of his children, 31 of his grandkids, 29 of his great-grandkids, and his siblings, Jeanne Irons, Earl Young, and Theodore Young (Kathy).
Wally was greeted in Heaven by both of his parents, sister Penny, brother Wally, son Anthony, daughter Lena, granddaughter Adene, grandson Ethan and great grandson Blake.
