Born on January 6, 1952, in Flint, Michigan, Bill later made Colorado his home. He attended William C. Hinkley High School and Kaplan University. Over the course of his career as a General Contractor, Bill earned the respect of many for his knowledge, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication. No matter how busy life became, he always made time for his family and his passions.
During his 73 years, Bill found joy in singing and strumming his guitar. A lifelong learner, he was an extensive reader and especially enjoyed history and theological topics—always eager to share knowledge about whatever sparked his curiosity.
Bill delighted in the outdoors and treasured every adventure shared with his sons. He loved camping, hunting, trapping, and fishing. He also had a lifelong love for animals and shared his home with many cherished pets throughout the years, each of which brought him comfort, companionship, and joy. His appreciation for nature grew into a fascination with precious gems, stone carving, and crafting beautiful things. True to his creative spirit, he often had a new project or idea forming before the previous one was finished.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Lola, and his sister, Darlene. He is survived by his sons, Mark and Billy, and was overjoyed to become a grandfather for the first time with the arrival of his granddaughter, Emmie, in 2022. They spent countless hours on video chats as he lovingly watched each of her milestones. Bill is also survived by his sisters, Judy, Sharon, and Carolyn, along with many friends and extended family members who will forever remember his love, kindness, generosity, and steadfast devotion.
Dad, we will miss you more than words can express. You were our “go-to” when life grew difficult, our sanity in a chaotic world, and our source of comfort when we needed clarity. You taught us to think things through, to stand strong, and to work hard. Because of you, we have the hearts of lions, a deep love for family, and the drive to persevere. Your legacy lives on through your lessons, your love, and the memories we will hold close forever.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of HopeWest’s Hospice Care Center of Grand Junction.
A Celebration of Life will be held on an undetermined date. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Bill Moss will be invited to gather in remembrance and honor his life. May he rest in peace.
