William “Bill” Shanahan, age 60, passed away on November 6, 2021, at HopeWest care center in the company of his large and loving family. Bill was born April 14, 1961, in Casper, Wyoming to William F. and Patricia Shanahan.
He is survived by his four children, Tucker (Jessica), Brenna (Justin), Brady and Zoe; three grandchildren, Kaydence, Kerrigan and McCoy; his mother Patricia, as well as his siblings, Elaine (Lance) Taylor, Ellen Ireland, Mary (Randy) Larson, Jacque (Ted) Clark and Terry (Rebecca); numerous nieces and nephews, and grand niece and nephew; and his former wife, Georgann Jouflas. All whom he loved profoundly and who dearly loved him. He was predeceased by his father, Bill and former wife, LuAnn Green.
Bill was a natural athlete. He loved all sports and was good at them. He wrestled and played baseball through high school. Upon graduating from GJHS in 1979, Bill had a successful career in oil and gas field equipment sales.
Everyone that met Bill knew that he was simultaneously one of the toughest, but most caring people you could ever hope to meet. He was hardworking in every aspect of his life and in no area is that more apparent than in how he cared for those close to him. As all his friends and family will attest, Bill was always willing to help anyone in need no matter what. Whether it be coming to the aid of a stranger or cooking at the local Greek Festival, Bill was always around to lend a hand. He was also a deeply religious man and would spend most of his Sunday mornings at church. An avid fan of everything sports related Bill would spend his nights watching ballgames of any kind or watching Westerns from his childhood. His favorites were anything Clint Eastwood to John Wayne (The Duke). He was the first to organize a game of wiffle ball or catch. He was truly a special individual and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
