Akpabio James Inyang, known in his family circle as Young and among his peers as Obio, was born on January 7, 1959 to the family of late Obong James William Inyang of Nung Ukana Ibesikpo, Ibesikpo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. His mother is Madam Arit Unyah of Nung Ukana Ikot Efre village.
Akpabio started his primary education in Abak. He proceeded to Lutheran High School Obot Idim where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1976. He then came over to the United States of America in 1980 to further his studies. He studied Economics and in 1985 obtained an Associate in Science Degree from Mission College, Santa Clara, California. In 2001, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California Coast University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the same University in 2003.
Akpabio got married to his wife Ini-Abasi Inyang January 1995. The marriage was blessed with two children; Edward and Jubilee.
Akpabio worked as an entrepreneur in different fields of business. He was a hard working man who loved his family. He was born into a Christian family and got to know the Lord on a personal basis. A quiet and peace loving person, well loved by all those who knew him.
He went to be with the Lord July 2, 2013 after a protracted illness diagnoses since he was 12 years of age. We thank God for giving him to us for so many years despite his health challenges. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by wife, children, and aged mother, sisters, brothers, aunties, uncles, cousins in-law and host of other relations to numerous to mention.
We take consolation in the word of God in John 11:25 "Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, although he may die, yet he shall live".
Akpabio has passed from life to life. Amen.
