

Alta Tomich, 94, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2015. She was born July 15, 1920 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to Carl and Letha King. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957 then Grand Prairie, Texas in 1981. Alta Marie Tomich and Merchant Marine Pete Tomich will be inurned together at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at a later date.
She is survived by sons, James W. Peebles, Sr. of Grand Prairie, TX, and Preston Peebles of Lubbock, TX. Eight grandchildren – James Peebles, Jr., Preston Peebles of Lubbock, TX, Jody Harris and Trisha Suarez of Phoenix, AZ, Barbara Comstock of Flagstaff, AZ, Sean Dillman of Seattle, Washington. Paul Walker and Mike Walker of Grand Prairie, TX. Eight great grandchildren and One great, great grandchild.
Alta Tomich is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Tomich. Her parents, Carl and Letha King, Two sisters, Margaret Patton and Burt Flury. Her daughters, Marlene Radcliff and Pamela Beckert. Her three children’s father, Earl Peebles and Pamela’s father Pete Tomich.
Alta had a strong work ethic. She was employed with GE Computer Division, Valley National Bank, Singer Sewing Machine Instructor, Diet Center Counselor, and after retiring spent 10 years loving and working as a greeter and shop assistant with Hair Master Salon in Grand Prairie, TX.
Alta had numerous hobbies, sewing, crocheting, bead and jewelry making, and took many awards in ceramics. Most of all Alta was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan and dearly loved and enjoyed her “Mimi” puppy dog.
Alta was a generous, loving, beautiful lady who will be greatly missed.
