Karen “Annette” Hutchison was born on February 16, 1941 in Wheeler, Texas. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry Raymond Jones, for 58 years. She has one brother: Johnny Hutchison and wife Sheryl of Granbury; two daughters: Lisa Rene’ Story and husband Michael of Burleson; Karen DeAnn Jones and wife Melissa of Richardson. Nana is also survived by eight grandchildren: Samantha Kuhn and husband Casey; Kelsey Royster and husband Colin; Taylor Humphrey-Hernandez and husband Austin; Christopher Jones; Joshua Jones; Garrett Jones; Peyton Fleming and Gavin Fleming. Nana is also survived by six great- grandchildren: Mikayla Kuhn, Jon Warren Royster, Grady Royster, Kessler Royster, Carson Kuhn and Annie Royster. She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.
After Annette graduated from McMurry University with a Bachelor of Science degree, she dedicated the rest of her life to raising her two daughters and serving as a steadfast role model for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also spent her time volunteering at the Wesley Rankin Community Center in Dallas and many other community and church outreach organizations. After recovering from Guillain-Barre’ Syndrome (GBS), she became a liaison for the GBS/CIPD Foundation, supporting others diagnosed with the same debilitating disease. In September 2016, Annette received the “Pillar of Support” award (along with her husband) at the annual GBS/CIDP Foundation International symposium in San Antonio, Texas.
Annette left a huge impact on so many. She had a servant’s heart and God, family, faith and friends were her greatest joys. She was a steady strength and presence in our family even until the very end. We are grieving the loss but find comfort knowing that she will spend eternity with our Creator and the love of her life. As she would say, “We are so blessed.”
