Anthony Eugee Fontenot

Anthony Eugee Fontenot of Grand Prairie, Texas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, surrounded by his family at home, at the age of 86. He is now with his cherished wife of 48 years, Marilyn Ann Fontenot.

He was born on June 3, 1937, in Eunice Louisiana. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after 40 years as a telegraph technician with Western Union.

He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Fourth Degree Knight and Grand Knight. He was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church and of VFW Post 2494.

He is survived by his sister, Geneva (Jane) Thibodeaux, brother, Rayford Fontenot, daughters Brigitte Thompson and Joyce Vargas, sons Tony, Jimmy, and Darrell Fontenot. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn, his sisters, Hazel and Helena, and brothers Avanels (Bee), Burkeman, and Clarence Dale Fontenot.

A visitation for Anthony will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Beltline Road, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 610 NE 17th St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
