Carl Patrick McLendon

Carl resided in Waxahachie, Texas from where he also passed. He was born on March, 26,1944 in Mansura, Louisiana to John Colvin McLendon and Grace Agnes Bordelon McLendon.

On May, 1, 1964 Carl married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Dillard McLendon in Dallas, Texas.

Carl was happiest when he had family around him. His pride and joy were his four grandsons and great granddaughter. No doubt he was a devoted family man who loved them all with his whole heart. Carl loved the great outdoors whether it was working, playing, or vacationing he was all about being outdoors. He loved spending free time on his ranch, Carl was quick to tell you that horses were his favorite animal as a child and that his love for horses would continue to grow with him as an adult. Carl was an avid thoroughbred race horse owner for over 35 years.

Carl was a successful business owner in transportation for over 40 years in Grand Prairie, Texas. His unfailing work ethics along with his relentless and untiring energy was second to none. His wisdom will live on through his legacy, which was to love faithfully, work hard, family togetherness and trust in those you love.

Carl was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley McLendon of Waxahachie, Texas and their two children; son, Brent Patrick McLendon and wife, Lori Michelle McLendon of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Kristina Renee Carr and husband, Thomas Eldridge Carr of Waxahachie, Texas; four grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Carr and wife Maylee Dawn Carr, Joshua Ryan Carr, Blake Patrick McLendon, Shane Michael McLendon and one great granddaughter, Madison Elaine Carr. Carl is the oldest of three brothers and two sisters Margarette Chasteen, John McLendon, David McLendon, Steve McLendon, and Debbie Jacobs.

He will live in our hearts and memories forever.

A visitation for Carl will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, October 29, 2021 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Graveside services will occur at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home.
