

Catarino “Bill” Valtierra passed away peacefully on July 1, 2015. He was born in Millsap, Texas on March 22, 1933 to Tirzo and Maria Valtierra. Catarino graduated from Weatherford High School. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1954 and honorably served for 3 years. Bill was proud to be a United States Marine and serve his country. He was awarded the National Defense, Korean and US Service Medals. He met his wife, Eulalia Rivas, at a wrestling match and the two were married in November of 1959. Bill worked as a machinist for over 25 years before he retired. He was a good hard working man who enjoyed reading war novels, watching Texas Longhorns football, action and war movies, and dancing. He was loving and a dedicated family man. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Christina “Mary Lou” Valtierra; sister San Juana Valtierra; uncle Tio Lupe, Tio Chano, Tio Chicho; aunts Tia Catalina and Tia Patrocina. Survived by his wife Eulalia Valtierra; children Carolina Valtierra, Christina V. Garza, Mario Valtierra, Ruben Valtierra, Simona Olage; grandchildren Julian Garza, LeAna Hernandez, Symon C. Garza, Alex I Garza, Mercedes Valtierra, Romero Valtierra, Penelope Valtierra, Matthew Valtierra, Michelle Valtierra, Steven Valtierra, Anastasia Escudero, Apollinaris Vasquez, Sonia Vasquez, Sophia Valtierra; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Jesse Valtierra, Lupe Valtierra, Adelaide Valtierra, Petra Cantu and Angel Valtierra.
