Danny Gene Dishman

Danny grew up in East Texas in a low income family. He quickly learned how to pass the time by being outside. He took an interest in hunting and fishing. He met Pattie Rene Roberts in Kilgore, Texas while driving around the hot spots and they were married April 19, 1968; soon after they completed their family with the birth of their daughter Kelly.

Danny worked as painter for the Grand Prairie ISD before going to Vought to paint airplanes. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling down to Lampasas, Texas. He had a large group of friend there, and they would enjoy libations and hunting. Danny would travel down to his camping spot in Lampasas at least a dozen times a year.

When he wasn’t hunting he enjoyed life, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. He would teach all the children he knew how to show “hook ‘em horns”. He was a devoted Longhorn fan, and would watch anything on t.v. if it pertained to the Longhorns.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents Jim Dishman and Minnie Joynes; wife Pattie Rene Dishman.

He survived by his daughter Kelly Dishman and her fiancé Michael Cull; sister Lucille Gun.
