Dave Franklin passed away February 8th, 2022. He was born in Deep West Texas in Floydada on June 25th, 1948. He spent his high school years in Early, Texas where he graduated from Early High School in 1966. There he enlisted in the Navy. He proudly served his country in the Navy Reserves for over 30 years. During that time he helped to defend our country in the Vietnam War and in Operation Desert Storm. He was married to Jill Franklin for almost 40 years, and together they raised two daughters, Tracy Morris and Heather Myers. Dave worked hard at different companies as a loan officer as his career. He couldn’t wait for retirement where he traveled and played golf everywhere he could. Playing golf with the ones he loved brought him so much joy. During retirement he volunteered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and was able to have an impact on the youth of his community. He was his happiest surrounded by his 12 grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up around him. He worked hard to make sure he was with those grandchildren for every event he could possibly make it to. From birthdays to graduations, to baptisms and every holiday, he was there. He loved Big and was loved Big.
Survived by his daughter Tracy Morris and husband Chris; daughter Heather Myers and husband Mike; 12 grandchildren: Sam Morris, Jake Morris, Elia Morris, Zane Morris, Asher Morris, Toby Morris, Jes Morris, Ana Morris, Michael Myers, Jaxon Myers, Hannah Myers, Elisabeth Myers; sisters Ruth Nieman, Janell Martin, La Deana Hasty. Proceeded in death by father Joseph Dean Franklin, mother Alice Ladell Franklin, and sister Mary McGee.
