David worked for the U.S. Post Office for 10 years. He married Joy Goff on August 22, 1975 and they lived in Grand Prairie, Texas until 2014. He was very proud of his Native American Indian heritage and taught Indian culture at the local elementary schools as a volunteer. David was a wonderful story teller who never met a stranger. He enjoyed Indian bead work and cooking. While serving our country in the U.S. Army he attended cooking and baking school. David was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife Joy Goodwin, children: David Elroy Goodwin, David Goodwin III; step-son James Goff and his wife, Rosemarie, sister Nola Bayes and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
