David Lee "Smitty" Smith, 66, passed away January 5, 2017. He was born December 2, 1950 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to parents, Charles Edward Smith and Jessie Opal Smith. He was an excellent musician who played the guitar and harmonica. He also loved woodwork, gardening and riding his motorcycle. Smitty is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jessie Smith. He is survived by: wife of 32 years, Patricia "Pat" Smith; children, Keri Smith Bennett and husband Stephen Jr., Drew Lee Smith and wife Lauren; grandchildren, Melissa "Paige" Brown and Aubry Alexis Bennett; sister, Barbara Oden and John Tinsley Oden; brother, Charles E. Smith and wife Vickie; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnephews, cousins and endless family of friends.
Visitation: 6 pm to 8 pm, Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie.
Funeral Service: 2 pm, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Prairie.
Committal Service: 9:30 am, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
