Delores A. Latour, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2026 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 13, 1939 in Webster Springs, West Virginia where she met and married the love of her life, Charles D. Latour. After Charles retired from a career in the Navy, they settled in Grand Prairie, Texas, where they raised their children and were active members of their local church and community.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Latour, son, Donald W. Latour, daughter-in-law Darla K. Latour, parents, Don & Ruby Shields, sisters Arliss Pugh, Fern Reese, Sherry Petrie, Jean Wonner, and brothers William “Bill” Shields and Larry W. Shields.
She is survived by her sons William D. Latour and Charles D. (Christina) Latour, daughter Debbie J. (Todd Legg) Latour, grandsons Rin Lamour and Christopher M. Cromer, granddaughter Veronica R. Cromer, and sisters Rose E. Thorpe and Evelyn Kimball, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will occur at the Dallas / Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
