Doris Jean Weems

Doris was born on November 01, 1946 in Waurika, Ok. She was born as the only child to Louis and Inez Hopkins. As a pastor’s kid, she was blessed with a lifetime filled with diverse experiences and adventures.

Doris attended several schools throughout her education, ultimately graduating from Mannsville, OK.

In 1964, Doris married the love of her life, Troyce Weems. They built a legacy of love and faith for 61 years.

Doris was a dedicated career woman, which included Seamstress, Hair Stylist, and Cafeteria Manager for the Arlington Tx ISD. She was a woman of many talents and hobbies. Doris enjoyed baking, cake decorating, embroidery, ceramics, painting and playing games. Doris dedicated her life in helping others as well as volunteering at her children’s school activities and sports. She committed herself to the Lord at an early age and served her family, community and church throughout her life. For many years, she dedicated her time and talents to serving the church in various capacities, including Missionettes Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, and Sunday School Superintendent. Beyond all other successes, Doris viewed her family and grandchildren as her greatest accomplishment.

Doris is survived by husband, Troyce Weems; daughters Lesa Fitzgerald and husband Jerry, Lashawn Kelly and husband Robin. Grandchildren Logan Teran and husband Jarid, Micaiah Kelly, Landon Kelly and Luke Kelly.

She will leave a legacy of love and faith that will be forever lasting.
