Dorothy Helen Davidson Kincaid went to be with her Lord December 9, 2012 at her home in Grand Prairie, TX. She was born November 2, 1932 in Ben Wheeler, Van Zandt County, TX to Thomas Grady Davidson and Lillie Vera Rector.
Dorothy was a miracle baby from the very beginning. When she was born she was only 2 pounds, and had to sleep next to the pot belly stove in a shoe box in the dresser drawer. They said she was not supposed to make it past a couple of days, but with her father nursing her with milk from an eye dropper every half hour, she survived. Not only did she survive she out-lived all her brothers. She was raised by her grandparents as a small child since her mother died 3 weeks after she was born where she earned her appreciation of gospel and country (the good old classics) music. She moved back with her father after he remarried Gladys Hilburn who also raised her. When she was young her grandfather gave her a puppy that she named Poochy, and when something happened to her puppy he would get her another one that she named Poochy.
Dorothy then moved to Dallas where she met and married Bud Kincaid, Jr., she was 18 years old, and had 3 wonderful children. They moved to Grand Prairie in the 50s and raised their family there. She was a very fun loving, caring person who always spoke her mind. Dorothy was a very giving person, she would help anyone in any way she could. A hard worker, Dorothy started her career life as a long distance telephone operator and retired from Lockheed Martin doing electrical work.
She was self-motivating and like to garden until her health prevented her, then she would have her son, Mike, do it for her. Picking out the plants she wanted, she would have him help her pick a spot to place the new addition. Dorothy was well loved by her family and friends, especially for her cooking.
She is preceded in death by her son Larry Kincaid, granddaughter Kim Sitzes, brothers Alvin Davidson, Raymond Davidson and Cecil Davidson, two infant sisters Ruby Fay Davidson and Open Fern Davidson and an unborn infant and parents.
She is survived by her son Mike Kincaid of Grand Prairie, Texas, daughter Brenda Boen and husband Paul of Point, Texas, granddaughter Stacey Tandy and husband John, great-grandchildren Michael Tandy, Rebekah Tandy, David Tandy, Seth Sitzes and Sean Sitzes.
