Sikes, Elizabeth, 92, was called home by her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on 7/27/13. Born in Zanesville, Ohio July 4, 1921; graduated from Meredith Business College in 1940. Married Lawrence Burkart in 1947 and moved to Texas in 1954. She was devoted to her children, David and Carol, and held various secretarial jobs. Married Wayne Sikes in 1979 and lived on Lake Leon for 18 years. In 1997 she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Preceded in death by parents George and Edna Kuhn, brothers Maynard and Howard, husband Wayne Sikes, and step-son Larry Sikes. Survived by son David Burkart and wife Debbie; daughter Carol Boswell and husband Jim; step-daughter Sharon Sikes; step-son Gary Sikes and wife Lisa; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. Family visitation Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at First Christian Church, 202 Tarrant Rd, Grand Prairie, and celebration of life Wednesday, July 31, 2013 2 p.m. with Pastor James Dart officiating. Private interment following at Moore Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorials may be made in her memory to First Christian Church, Grand Prairie, TX.
