It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Enrique Ysasi Abrego known as Henry, who departed from this world on August 21, 2023. He was a God fearing man of vibrant passions, a lover of Mexican music, dancing, singing, and above all, his cherished grandchildren. Though he possessed a fiery temper, his love burned fiercely and left an indelible mark on our lives. He was a man of faith always reminding us to "be nice" and reminding his children of God's salvation.
Born on April 4, 1964 in San Benito, Texas, he was a charismatic and charming individual who brought comedic relief and laughter wherever he went. He had an unwavering love for Mexican music, its lively rhythms, and soulful melodies. Whether it was the sound of mariachi bands or the heartfelt lyrics of Tejano, he would immerse himself in the music, singing along with a voice that resonated with passion and emotion. He was known to enter singing competitions and he even won with his magnetic personality that made him the life of the party.
While his love for celebration was a defining aspect of his life he had a natural talent for dancing, and his moves were a sight to behold. He would effortlessly glide across the dance floor, captivating everyone with his larger than life energy and enthusiasm. His love for dancing was contagious, like his smile, and he would often encourage others to join him, creating a vibrant atmosphere of celebration. He enjoyed socializing and having a good time being one to know all the secrets. He affectionately accused others of being metiche and consistently was proven to be a culprit.
A man of humor and wit, Henry had an uncanny ability to bring laughter into any room. His jokes and playful banter would light up the atmosphere, and his infectious laughter would fill our hearts with warmth. He had a knack for finding humor in the simplest of moments, reminding us all to find joy even in the midst of life's challenges. His comedic personality sustained through his last days, always making light of hard times. He would always say "what do you want me to do? Cry?". He was a strong man that held on to his emotions but he wore his heart on his sleeve and there was honey beyond the rock exterior.
Above all, Henry was a fiercely loving father, son, and grandfather. His daughter and son were always cardinal and they always held him in high regard loving him wholeheartedly and unconditionally in even the hardest of circumstances. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he showered them with affection, wisdom, gifts and guidance. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he took great pride in watching them grow and flourish. He was a child at heart and they could feel his undeniable love spoiling them they best way he knew how.
While Henry had a temper that could sometimes flare, it was a testament to his passionate nature. He loved fiercely and protected those he cared about with unwavering devotion. His love was a force that could not be contained, and it left an indelible impact on the lives of his mother, wife, son, daughter, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren. He cherished his mother always making a concerted effort to spend quality time with her. He helped his brothers and sisters when he was able and changed their lives in ways they will always cherish and remember.
In his final days, Henry resided in Grand Prairie, Texas, with his wife. His daughter took a pivotal role in his recovery, rehabilitation, and managed all aspects of his care and always had a unconditional and unwavering love for her father. He shared a deep everlasting bond with his son that knew no bounds and created a lifetime of memories together. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved. He gifted his children with his zest for life, willful personality, and passionate nature.
Henry is survived by his mother, wife, son, daughter, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews who will carry his legacy forward with love and pride.
