Ethel “Jan”, was born September 2, 1943 the older of twin sisters, with Frances Ann; to the parents Henry Buck Eppler and Frances Nadine Eppler, in Hamilton, TX. Jan graduated from Andrews High School in 1961. She attended college at Texas Tech University after High School. On January 25, 1964 she married her loving husband Donald Ray Jackson. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at The University of Texas at Arlington in December 1981. She started her own accounting business shortly afterwards. She later would become a Comptroller for several companies, before becoming a Loan Officer for the Small Business Administration, Disaster Relief division where she eventually retired from.
After retirement she and her husband traveled often and enjoyed Cruises. She loved volunteering, helping others, teaching Bible class, and knitting/sewing garments for the needy and homeless of the community where ever she resided.
Jan is survived by her children, Steven and Wanda Jackson of Kaufman; and Brian Jackson of Kaufman. grandchildren, Carl Jackson of Kaufman and James Jackson of Maryland; brother-in-law, Bill Young, sister-in-law, Mary Eppler, brother-in-law, Larry Jackson wife, Nancy; nieces, Cheryl Young, Betty Fannin husband Kim, Pam Escobar husband Ramon, Sasha Shults and husband, Robby; nephews, Allan Eppler, Mike Eppler, Ryan Jackson wife Karen, Stormy Jackson wife Christina, Tanner Jackson; and many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Nadine Eppler; father, Henry Buck Eppler; husband, Donald Ray Jackson; sister, Frances Ann Young; and brother, Harold Wayne Eppler.
A visitation for Ethel will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Beltline Road, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New York Ave. Church of Christ, 5371 New York Ave., Arlington, TX 76018. A committal service will occur Monday, May 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
