The son of John Benson Moody and Nancy Pierce Johnson - Moody, George Henry grew up in Dallas, Texas with his 4 brothers and 4 sisters. In a family of 9, It is easy to see where one would have to fight for attention, but that wasn’t hard for George Henry because he was so rowdy. In the 8th grade, he was let out of school and kicked off all school buses in Texas. Since then, his rambunctious fighting spirit has been for family and country.
At the age of 19, George Henry enlisted in the United States Army. In Vietnam, he served with the 5th Battalion, 2nd air defense artillery. He valued this service highly and attained the rank Specialist 4 (T). He was a decorated combat veteran who was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a real life hero for both his family and his country.
George Henry is survived by his loving wife, Juana McKenzie, who thanks everyone for celebrating his life with her. He is also survived by his daughter and twin sons; Kimber Lee Moody, Lonnie Joe Moody, Ronnie George Moody. George Henry was a loving paw paw to 8 grand children and 6 great grandchildren. His loved ones will remember his beautiful singing, dancing, and guitar playing, unforgettable storytelling and memorable vacationing.
