Glenys B. Entwistle

Glenys was born in Haslingden, Lancashire, England on October 15, 1932 to parents Richard Barlow and Amy Walton Barlow. Glenys began her nursing education in England and started her nursing career as a midwife and a nursing instructor at Rossendale General HospitalGlenys was married to Frank Hardcastle Entwistle and had three children Alan, Anne and Janet while in England. Frank, who was also a nurse, moved to Dallas, Texas in 1964 to further his nursing career at Parkland Hospital. On April 4, 1966 Glenys and their children moved to Dallas, Texas to join her husband Frank as a nurse at Parkland. Glenys and Frank had two more children Sarah and Margaret after moving to Texas. Glenys worked as a registered nurse at Parkland Hospital and later retired from Charlton Methodist Hospital. Glenys had a long nursing career and contributed to the education of many nurses.

Glenys is survived by her 5 children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband and brother Richard Barlow.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held when social distancing recommendations due to COVID-19 have been lifted.
