Gloria Mitchell Harr, 66, passed away on May 13, 2022. She was born in San Diego, California on December 18, 1955, to Barbara Holton Mitchell and Billy Mitchell. The family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas shortly after her birth. Gloria grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated from South Grand Prairie High School.
She was a member of the Chey-Anne drill team, National Honor Society, choir, and various other organizations. After a year at The University of Texas at Austin she decided to start a full-time career in the U.S. Postal Service, which is where she met her husband, Mike Harr. They eventually moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where she gave birth to their 2 sons, Jody and Randall Harr. After a few years they moved back to Arlington, Texas, then eventually ended up in Grand Prairie.
Gloria retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2011, where she had worked in both Fairbanks, Alaska and Arlington, Texas. She loved to read, crochet, and travel. Gloria was a beautiful, loving, and smart lady with a huge generous heart of gold. Her smile and zest for life could light up a room and make everyone around her instantly happy.
Gloria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edith Carrie Coward Holton and Juston Glenn Holton Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Painter Mitchell and William Jessie Mitchell. Step-father, Robert(Bud) Bone. She is also survived by her parents, Barbara Mitchell Bone and Billy Mitchell (Gerrie Mitchell) and siblings Cynthia(Cindy) Mitchell Nelson (Eric Nelson), Gary Mitchell (Rhonda Mitchell), and Aundria Mitchell Amman (Mike Amman) and sons; Jody Harr and Randall Harr and grandchildren; Tristan, Sebastian, Billie, Jerry, Aliceson, Emerson Harr, and Dane Wehr. Nevertheless, she will be missed by her many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many countless of friends.
Funeral service will be officiated by Raul Rendon Sr.
