Grace Margaret Cunningham

She was born in Portales, New Mexico at the home of her grandparents on August 1, 1922 to Thomas O. and Myrtle Roark Bickham

Grace graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1939 and was Valvictorian of her class. Grace received Bachelors of Education degree from North Texas State University in 1964.

She was married to Charles Cunningham on January 30, 1942 in Grand Prairie. They remained married until his death in 1999.

Grace worked Tempco, Inc. in the 1950’s before returning to college to receive her education degree after which she taught 1st grade at Bowie Elementary for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church if Grand Prairie, Order of the Eastern Star, Texas State Teachers Association and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She had a passion for reading and her grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Charles Bruce Cunningham, Jr. and Barbara Cunningham of Granbury, Texas. 5 grand children, Tammy and Rick Lovier of Alvarado, Chad and Tina Cunningham of Grand Prairie, Margaret and Trey Turner of Keller, Joanna and Jason Gregg of Lumberton and Katherine Cunningham of Granbury. She is also survived by 8 great grand children and one great great grandchild.

She is also survived by 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and a grandson.

Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 31, at Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie.
