Mr. Thai received his College Degree in Business Management from the University of North Texas. He was an active member of the Vietnamese American Communities Organization. He worked 17 years with the Texas Department of Agriculture - specifically the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program). CACFP reimburses child care centers, day care home providers, adult day care centers, and afterschool at-risk programs for part of the cost associated with serving more than 400,000 approved meals and snacks to children and adults in Texas every day. The goal of the CACFP is to improve and maintain the health and nutritional status of children and adults, to promote development of good eating habits, and to integrate nutritious food service with organized child and adult day care services. These children and adults were provided nutritious foods through funding from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
He was also the founder of American Nutrition Care, a non-profit organization, which provided Public Service and Assistance to low income children.
Mr. Thai is survived by his spouse, Lam Huynh; children, Huy Quang Thai and Kim Long Thai; and siblings, Kim Phuong Thai and Quoc Quange Thai.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grandprairiefh.com for the Thai family.
