Jerry Alan Roberts

Jerry graduated from Yeager High School in Yeager, Oklahoma in May 1953. After school he was drafted in the U.S. Army and served from 1955-1957. He moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in March of 1957 .

Jerry married Dorothy LaVerne Smith of Holdenville, Oklahoma on December 8 1957. He was employed by the Dallas Fire- Rescue from June 1, 1958 to February 5, 1985; and at Dresser Industries Air Transport Division at Love Field. In 1998 he retired to enjoy full time RVing and serving as camp hosts.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, F.O and Lora Roberts of Holdenville, Ok; brother Charles Roberts of Grand Prairie; nephews Eddy Roberts of Corsicana, and Charles A. Roberts of Athens

He is survived by his wife LaVerne Roberts; children Sharon and Scott Snipes of Grand Prairie; Terry and Susie Roberts of Grand Prairie; Rhonda and Curtis Hailey of Mansfield; grandchildren; Tyler and Dana Elsner of Waxahachie; Shane Elsner of Grand Prairie; Travis and Trish Roberts of Arlington; Stephany and Dennis Valkenaar of Arlington; Ryan Hailey of Mansfield; Ashleigh Snipes of Waxahachie; Alex and Alicia Dean of Lakeland, Fl.; Maggie Dean of Grand Prairie; Courtney Hailey and Sarah Hailey of Arlington; great grandchildren; Kelsey, Blane and Konner Elsner of Waxahachie; Penni Mae Valkenaar of Arlington; Kaiden Calvert and Marleigh Ledzema of Waxahachie; niece Stephanie Snell of Frisco; nephew Tommy Roberts of Arlington.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be at Matthew Road Baptist Church in Grand Prairie at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
