(7-13-61) - (5-6-12)
Lifetime Grand Prairie resident, Little Joe grew up in a skating rink doing competitive skating. Showing off his skills with his skating partner/sister. He loved sports and the out doors. Fishing, being a bad golfer, coaching football, playing basketball with the kids in the neighborhood, sweet tea and cookouts. He loved his old time movies, and would laugh so loud that Sissy would have to tell him to close the door. Little Joe loved Texas sports, he helped build the Texas Rangers stadium and even had a plaque with his name in center field. He enjoyed challenging video games, the color purple and his grandchildren.
The story of Little Joe and his wife "Sissy" is a true, love at first sight. They had met when Sissy was just 11yrs old while he was working at the skating rink, but it wasn't till Sissy was 24 yrs old for them to meet again. It was through his sister Tammy that these two would find each other. The month was May when they finally reconnected, and only July when they were married and remained happily ever after for the last 26 1/2 years.
Little Joe is preceded in death by his mother Lottie and niece Maggie.
He is survived by wife-Sissy, daughter Leanna, son Joseph Jr. and 4 grandchildren, father Joseph Henry, Sisters Rhonda Dossey, Tammy Monsson and Toni Latham. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to be held Saturday (5-12-12) at 11 a.m. with reception at Moose Lodge at Park Row and 360 in Grand Prairie, TX. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to NFT Transplants.org
