Lauren Taylor Cortez, age 30, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024. She was born in Grand Prairie, Texas on Thursday October 6, 1994. She graduated from Bowie High School in May of 2012 and pursued a career in nursing at Concorde Career College. She helped many people throughout her nursing career, making a lasting and positive impact on their lives.
On September 8, 2024, she married Nathan Ferguson, and they cherished their time together. An avid movie-fan, Lauren enjoyed a variety of films, especially comedies, and her favourite interests revolved around traveling to new places and delighting in the amazing experiences she encountered throughout her travels.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan Ferguson. Her mother Monica Armas, father Eddie Cortez, stepfather Eric Armas, grandfather Fernando Martinez, grandmother Maria Elena Cervantez, grandfather Mario Vasquez, nephew Zachariah Cortez, and a whole host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Amalia Aguirrie, grandfather Daniel Cervantez, and her brother Edward Daniel Cortez.
A visitation for Lauren will be held Monday, October 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
