Lena was born on November 29, 1938, in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, to Billy Richardson and Gladys Adams Richardson. She was known for her fiery spirit, her strength, and the way she carried herself with determination throughout her life. Lena held a special place as the backbone of her family, and her presence was deeply felt by all who knew her.
Though she was strong-willed and independent, her family loved her very much and will remember her as the foundation that held everyone together. Her legacy is one of resilience, steadfastness, and love that endures through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
Lena is survived by sons Charles C. Bancroft Jr., Billy W. Bancroft and wife Vi, John David Bancroft and wife Kim, daughter-in-law Tamie Bancroft, Grandchildren Charles, Amber, Cody, Dustin, Megan, Madison, Makenzie, Amanda, Kendra, Ashley, Lauren, Casey, Sunny, Presley, Jessica, Jordan, Bethany, Blake, their spouses, and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Gladys Richardson, husband, Charles C Bancroft Sr., sons, Michael J. Bancroft and Howard J. Bancroft, and grandson, Austin Bancroft.
Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Noon on August 29th, 2025, at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and pay tribute to the remarkable woman she was.
Though her absence leaves a void in our hearts, we take comfort in knowing that Mimi’s strength and fire live on in all of us—and will continue to shape and inspire generations to come.
