Leonel DeLeon

On March 17, 1956, in LeBelle, FL., he married Dora Almazan, and they spent 57 years in love. They raised their children in Hereford, TX, and then they moved down to Grand Prairie, TX, to start a trucking company. There they spend time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed cookouts, sporting events, and listening to his music on the patio with his family. Leonel loved to laugh and play jokes with his family and friends. All his family and friends referred to him as “Pa” even if they weren’t related to him because of how he took care of everyone. He enjoyed being outside as much as possible, only sitting down to watch the news, his westerns, and his local sports teams.

Leonel was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for the past 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Francisco De Leon and Francisca De Leon; siblings Sulema Peña, Ismael De Leon, Viola Quintanilla, Gloria Lopez; children Guadalupe DeLeon, Francisco DeLeon, Elsa Escobedo-DeLeon. He is survived by children Mary Jane DeLeon, Maria del Carmen DeLeon, Linda Lou LeMaster; grandchildren Michael Cederstrom, Christopher DeLeon, Veronica Guerrero, Robert Cederstrom, Joseph Cederstrom, Richard Cederstrom, Giselle DeLeon, Gianni DeLeon, Angel Ruiz, Koby LeMaster, Jessika LeMaster; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings Florinda Garcia, Rosa De Leon, Antonia Ramirez, and Guillermo DeLeon.

Visitation for Leonel will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021, from 5-9 pm at Grand Prairie Funeral Home in the chapel, located at 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Church in Grand Prairie, TX. Burial will take place at Moore Cemetery located at 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012; following the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers are Christopher DeLeon, Koby LeMaster, Jessika LeMaster, Michael Cederstrom, Robert Cederstrom, Joseph Cederstrom, Richard Cederstrom, and Edward Guerrero.
