Mary Lucile Lawson Carr

MESQUITE -- Mary Lucile "Lucy" Lawson Jones Carr left this earth peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born September 14, 1917 in Bogata, TX. to Eldredge Arthur Lawson and Minnie Lillian Storey Lawson. She grew up in Bogata, graduated from Bogata High School in 1925 and married her childhood sweetheart, Marvin R. Jones. After his death she married Joe L. Carr and they moved to Grand Prairie, TX. in 1955. Mary Lucile loved life, taking trips, square dancing, line dancing and making people laugh. She was active for many years in the activities at the Grand Prairie Senior Citizens Center which she loved. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grand Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Marvin Jones, second husband, Joe L. Carr, her brother, James Lawson and nephew, James "Buddy" Lawson. She is survived by her only child, daughter, Marilla Jones Henderson Watson, granddaughter, Anastasia Henderson, nieces, Susan Shamburger and Virginia Geer and beloved step grandchildren, great grandchildren, great and great great nieces and nephews as well as many wonderful friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. The burial will take place Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Bogata Cemetery in Bogata, TX.
