

Mary Ethel Rischer was born May 10, 1922 in Arp, Texas to Candice Lane. She attended the Freestone County Public Schools. On December 30, 1950, she was united in holy matrimony to Melivn Rischer; a marital union which continued for 55 years, until his death.
In 1958 they moved to California where Mary worked as the cafeteria supervisor for the California School Districts until she retired. In 1994, Mary and Melvin decided to move back to Texas, where they settled in Grand Prairie. They united with the Grand Prairie Family Church of the Nazarene, where they were involved in various programs.
Mary was a member of a book club and various other auxiliaries. She was a strong woman of faith who loved to travel, read and shop at Dillard’s. She was very passionate about sharing the Bible with those around her. Mary would talk on the phone for hours and was a master story teller.
Known as a Diva, she took pride in her appearance. Mary was also very complimentary to others in the way they dressed. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was good at making others laugh. Mary was family oriented, a giver and an awesome cook. She was self-sufficient till her passing and a loving people person.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Rischer. She leaves to cherish her memory, son - Deon Dean, sister - Ora Wilson, nephew - Charles Dennis, her best friend - Sue, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and extended family.
