Woody lived on a ranch for a short time where his father worked. When he lost his father at 2 years old his family moved around through south Texas. At the age of 10 he lost his mother and from that time on was raised by his brother, Harold. After moving a little bit more Woody and Harold settled in Grand Prairie in 1964. He was a Grand Prairie Gopher and in 1969 he met Cheryl Cason, when his best friend was dating her best friend. They courted for several years and were married on September 2, 1972.
Due to his humble upbringing, Woody was an appreciative man who loved life. He would often say "appreciate what you got, don't worry about what you don't." He was a respectful husband, proud father, non-judgmental friend and good man. He always saw the best in people and never held a grudge. He believed in being a positive person. Woody appreciated all types of music but mainly enjoyed rock and classic rock. He saw Led Zeppelin in concert with Cheryl and still orders C.D's online.
Some of his favorite hobbies included photography, tinkering on classic cars, attending car shows and taking the scenic route when he drove. He was a naturally skilled artist and observant man. Woody was a private man who was naturally very quiet but would randomly surprise you with a spontaneous joke. He enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh.
Above all he loved his family. He doted on his wife and enjoyed concerts and traveling. With his son when he was not skipping rocks at the lake they were creating new car designs in their mind.
