Richard Curtiss Watts

Richard was born May 4, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas to Richard and Velree Watts. He was the youngest of five siblings. He started working straight out of high school for Texas Electric in Fort Worth, Texas, where he remained for 20 years. He then bought his own 18 wheeler to become an independent driver and enjoyed viewing our beautiful country from the seat of his big rig. He loved the freedom of the road and continued this work until he retired.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gloria Farmer; and a brother, Anthony Watts.

He is survived by a brother, Max Watts of Lansing, Kansas; a sister, Sarah Walker and brother-in-law, David Walker of Arlington, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He also cherished the friendship of residents of his senior living apartment complex in Richland Hills, Texas, with whom he shared many holiday dinners over the years.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at LifeCare Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, for taking good care of Richard. Every person we encountered was kind and helpful and took time to listen to us and answer our questions. We are very grateful.
