Richard Edward Young

Richard Edward Young, 67, passed away on June 12, 2022, surrounded by family at home in Lewisville, TX from acute liver illness. He was born in Waxahachie, TX on January 22, 1955, to Carl Wilburn Young and Delilah Mae Reeves (both deceased). Richard graduated from South Garland High School and attended Dallas Baptist College until he joined and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge in 1981, he worked 45 years as a Supervisor at the Distribution Plant of the United States Postal Service in Coppell, TX.

Richard was a devoted father and grandfather as well as a caring and loving husband. His generosity and kindness were extraordinary. When speaking with people who knew him closely, they say he is best remembered for his support and concern for others. Although not much of a talker in general, once interested in a particular topic it often led to a "friendly debate". He was an accomplished handyman and performed many renovation projects on his home. He loves watching world news, gourmet food, broadway shows, and traveling with his family during vacation time. He is survived by his wife Jane; his children: Lisa, Matt, Dylan and Amber; his grandchildren: Makayla, Asher, Travis and Trevor; his brother, Danny.

A “Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, June 18th between 2:30PM - 4:30PM
