Ruthie Dalene Johnson

Ruthie “Dalene” Johnson of Grand Prairie, TX passed away on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at the age of 70. She was born on August 31st, 1954 in Dayton, OH and grew up in Lenoir City, TN. She worked in and managed many bars/nightclubs throughout her life, including in Nashville, TN where she met many notable musicians on Music Row. She continued to work in the bar scene after she moved to Texas until she retired in 2011. She enjoyed cooking from scratch from her many recipes she learned from her own granny throughout her upbringing.

Dalene Johnson is preceded in death by her late husband Harold R. Johnson, her sister, Sandy Rogers, her parents Troy & Milard Wampler and her pets Tooter & Tootsie. She is survived by her daughter, Anna Jones and husband David Jones. Her two granddaughters, Abigail Rose Hicks and husband, Grady Hicks, and Angela Renea Pannell. Her nephew T.J. Scarborough and wife Tammy Scarborough and their four children and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Bob Rogers, and her longtime close friends JT Wilson, Lori Peruchi and family, and Cameron & Stephanie Dickerson who meant the world to her as well as her furbaby, Chewy.

The family would like to thank Roane County Hospital in Tennessee and Community Hospice of Texas for the care and compassion they showed Dalene in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in Dalene’s honor at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home at 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025 from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
