

Sally Hope Stobb passed away peacefully November 12th 2021 surrounded by family at Mayberry Gardens Assisted living in Grand Prairie TX. Sally was born October 26,1933 in Plainfield NJ to Rosanna Clark Hayes of Erie, PA, and Ohio, and Howard Van Lieu Bloomfield, of Bayonne, NJ. Sally grew up in Hunterdon County NJ, and attended Flemington High School (Class of 1951). She was an active member of the 4H and submitted many sewing projects for competition at the Flemington Fair. She attended Centenary College, Hackettstown, NJ, earning an Associates Degree. She married the love of her life, Rudolph Charles Stobb, in 1954, and started married life in Edgewood, MD while Rudolph served in the US Army at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
Sally and Rudy were married June 1st 1954 at the Presbyterian Church in Flemington, NJ after an extended romance, which started at the Grange hall in Stanton NJ, a halfway point between the Flemington (Sally) and Clinton (Rudy) High Schools. They celebrated their 65th Anniversary in 2019. Sally and Rudy raised five children: Mary Catherine Stahl, Elizabeth Anne-Marie Mourer, Charles Anthony Stobb, Theresa Maria MacLellan, and John Thomas Stobb; and were pre-deceased by four daughters: twins Deborah Alison and Diana Kathleen (1955), Katherine Victoria (1956), and Katherine Marie (1958).
After moves to Racine WI, Plainfield, Pittstown and Martinsville NJ, Endwell and Conklin NY, Annandale NJ and Bethlehem PA while Rudolph pursued his career, they finally settled in Quakertown NJ for 40+ years through early 2017, living in and rebuilding a colonial house. In 2017 due to declining health, Sally and Rudy found themselves in assisted living in Grand Prairie TX, where two of their children (Theresa and Charles) were available to assist in their care.
Sally and Rudy converted to the Catholic Church in 1956 and were very active in their faith. Sally participated in the choirs at St. Edward’s Parish in Racine WI, St. Catherine of Sienna in Pittstown NJ, and St. Michael the Archangel Church in Grand Prairie TX.
Sally was predeceased by her husband Rudolph (September 19,2019) and is survived by 5 Children, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Thursday, November 18th from 6-9 PM at the Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, with Rosary at 7 PM. The funeral mass will be held 10 AM Friday, November 19th at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. Interment will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, November 26th at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas TX.
Serving as pallbearers are: C. Anthony Stobb, John Stobb, Timothy Stobb, Timothy Bloomfield, Christopher MacLellan and William Stahl.
