Born on August 24, 1946, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to Lucille and Jarald High, Terry lived a life marked by faith, service, and deep devotion to those he loved. On October 16, 1965, he married the love of his life, Katherine Hill. Together, they built a strong, faith-centered family, raising their children to walk boldly with Christ and to value love, hard work, and integrity.
Terry served honorably in the United States Air Force and later in the National Guard, embodying dedication and patriotism. His professional life was rooted in aviation, where he specialized in jet engines and dedicated many years to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) before retiring. In recognition of his lifelong contributions to aviation maintenance, he was awarded the prestigious “Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award”.
An outdoorsman at heart, Terry found peace in the simple joys of hunting, fishing, and family camping trips. His favorite destination was Fun Valley, Colorado—a place filled with laughter, tradition, and the making of cherished memories. Whether driving through Texas Hill Country with his wife, Kathy, enjoying wildflowers and scenic views, or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, Terry was always most content when surrounded by family.
His faith was the foundation of his life. A long-time member of Turnpike Church of Christ, now Crosspoint Church of Christ, Terry served as an elder, worship leader, Sunday school teacher, and youth group sponsor and chaperone. He was a leader, an encourager, and a man whose life was a sermon of its own.
Terry often said, "Making memories," and that he did—leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and steadfast faith that will continue to inspire generations.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathy (Hill) High; son, Brandon High and wife, Kellie; daughter, Cheri Ramsey and husband, Troy; grandchildren, Krysta Ramsey, Kendall Boyd and husband, Jonathan, Katie Ramsey, Jordan Arbuthnot and husband, Christian, Jacob Ramsey and wife, Anneka, Joshua Ramsey, DJ Ramsey, Darcy High, Paisley DeHart, Nathan High; great grandchildren, Charlee, Karter, Lynley, and Ramsey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will all carry his memory in their hearts every day.
