William "Hoppy" Patrick Hopkins of Grand Prairie passed away June 27, 2014 in Arlington, Texas. He was born May 4, 1940 in Paris, Texas to James Rex Hopkins and Etta Lorraine Cook. William was a member of the United States Army from 1942 -1944, attaining expert marksmanship with a rifle and a carbine. After his discharge, he worked in the security /aircraft industry for the U. S. Government. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Hopkins; parents Rex and Etta Hopkins, brothers, Bob and Grady Hopkins; and daughter in law, Rhonda Bowen. Those he leaves to cherish his memory; children, Kim Villareal and husband Joe, Christina Villareal and husband, Jerry, Ronnnie Bowen and fiance Deborah, Steve Bowen and wife, Leigh Anne; grand children, Vanessa, Eric, Rachel, Justin, Felicia, Jessica, Summer, Nikki,; 8 great grand children; sister, Mary Jo Stockton, along with many other nieces and nephews. Family will be receiving friends Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for a visitation at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, 972-975-5000. Funeral service will be immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
