

William “Pete” H. Thompson went to be with his Lord March 30, 2013. He was born January 10, 1939 in Grand Prairie, TX to Ed and Mary Thompson. Pete is a lifelong resident to Grand Prairie. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School and was a longtime fan of TCU. Growing up he was a very athletic boy and after he received his BS in education became a teacher and coach for the Grand Prairie ISD for 22 years. He coached every sport; basketball, baseball, track and football. He enjoyed coaching so much he coached basketball for DeMolay, and was the head coach at South Grand Prairie High School for 15 years. He always had a passion for sports and country music which could explain his consistent practice of the fiddle.
Later in life he was only a member of West Fork Presbyterian but a devoted father and grandfather.

He also worked on the school board for 3 years and owned several rental properties. Above all he loved his family. He was a great father who was always there for you and always on your side. He loved to talk about how perfect his grandchildren are, so beautiful and smart. The best he could every wish for.
Pete is survived by his wife Myrna Thompson; son Bart Thompson; step-son Mike Temple and wife MaryLynn; step-daughter Cheryle Eskridge and husband Lynn; grandchildren Laura Temple, Sarah Temple, Shannon Temple, Sydney Eskridge, Jackson Eskridge; brother John Thompson and wife Nelda; sisters Mary Sue Shelton and husband Jim, Billie Ruth Shelton and Evelyn Parker.
