Aileen May Bliss

Aileen May Bliss, Passed away on Oct. 4, 2013 from complications of Alzheimer’s. Aileen was born in Charlotte, MI on May 11, 1917 to John and Anna Berry. She was preceded in death by parents, siblings, Kenneth (Madeline), Wava (Vern) Wright, her son, Lyle, and her best friend and love of her life, her husband Fred, 29 yrs ago. She is survived by her daughter Terry (“best son in law” Dale Andrews), Granddaughters Kim and Brooke, great grandchildren Cory (Ashley Fennel) and Crystal (sf Blaine) and great-great-granddaughter Aubrey Andrews, special friends Naida Koopmans and Marcha Binney, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was devoted to her family and friends, caregiver and rolemodel for many. She traveled the US with her husband and son and his “special family”. She became a world traveler at the young age of 70 and enjoyed every minute and mile. She last wintered in Spain at the age of 88. “If I die while traveling, let it be on my way home”. She was a true advocate for disabled persons including her son, of Plainfield United Methodist Church, and many other causes. She enjoyed life to the fullest, even when it threw her curves, her strong faith carried us through! We will all remember that beautiful smile! As per her request, cremation has taken place. Memories will be shared Wednesday Oct. 23, 2-4 and 7-9 and services will be Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel, followed by a celebration of her life.
