Arthur Lewis McKellar

Arthur Lewis McKellar age 83 of Grand Rapids passed away in the loving arms of his Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and grandson Kyle Roberts. Art will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Katie, children, Diane (Jim) Talbot, Tom McKellar, Michele (Chet) Roberts, Scott (Denise) McKellar, Tami (John) Kitson, 10 grandchildren, 15 ½ great-grandchildren, sisters Ruth Curtiss, Nettie Boogaart, brothers Larry McKellar, David (Kathy) McKellar, many nieces and nephews and his loving dog Tasha. Art was a Navy veteran and life member of VFW Creston Post 3023 and AML Post 356. He is a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church who loved golfing, bowling, making crafts, camping and spending time with his family. After retirement he loved being with his wife, and they enjoyed 25 winters in Florida. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church 2740 Fuller Ave NE with Rev Kevin Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE. Memorials can be made in Art’s honor to Faith Lutheran Church or the Friends of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
