Barbara Jean Borchers

Barbara Jean Borchers, aged 86, went to be with her Lord and was reunited with her husband, John Borchers, on Sunday, October 12, 2014. She is preceded in death by her mother Katherine Sluzen, and sisters Jean and Marge Sluzen. Barbara is survived by her children Barbara Cochran, Robert (Cynthia) Borchers, Ed (Cynthia) Borchers and Mark Borchers. Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her rosary and her games. She enjoyed playing her games with family and friends. Barbara was a big fan of both the Detroit Redwings and the Tigers. She had many hobbies including knitting, plastic canvas, and her tradition of making the hard Christmas candies. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Parish (224 Carrier St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11am. Please join the family at St. Alphonsus Parish from 10 to 11am for a time of visitation. Interment to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
