Barbara Jean Scheid

Barbara Jean Scheid aged 69 of Grand Rapids and formerly of Mt. Pleasant is now breathing deep and easy in Heaven’s “Happy Hunting Ground”. She was surrounded by her family as she traveled to the greatest destination. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children; Karen (Troy) Thrun, Amy Leigh Blunt, Anthony Joseph “Joe” Frisch, Andrew John (Heather) Frisch, Grandma Berber’s grandchildren; Travus, Tori, Theo Thrun, Taylor, Sage, Gabrielle, Cache Blunt, Conner Frisch, Aria, Mandel Militello, Ruby, Ivy Frisch, her devoted sisters, Virginia (Thomas) Judge, Borgia Beth (Paul) Lux, and several nieces and nephews. She is joining her deceased parent’s George and Marie, sister Catherine Scheid, and brother-in-law Thomas Judge. Barbara, as a mom made each of her four children feel as if they were her only child. She was accepting, courageous and stoic, always present as a mother through multiple illnesses and set-backs. Barbara’s cherished friendships began at Sacred Heart Academy in Mt Pleasant, joyful and memorable friendships blossomed with her seniority sisters at Michigan State University and most currently quiet, strategic times with friends playing Scrabble and Bridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 2275 Diamond Ave NE with Rev. Lamar Peartin CSsR of St Alphonus Parrish as celebrant. A grave-site celebration will take place at Calvary Cemetery 302 South Kinney Mt. Pleasant, MI on Tuesday at 4 PM. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Sunday from 5-7PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE. The Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
