Bernice Bernie Irene Laramy Schuiling Smalley

Bernice Irene Schuiling-Smalley aged 93 of Grand Rapids passed away Sunday October 16, 2011. She was preceded in death by her first husband Willis Schuiling in 1983, her second husband Clarence C. Smalley in 2010, daughter Sue Ann Schuiling, grandson Daniel Jansen, great-grandson Aren Lilly and brother Arthur Laramy. Bernice will be lovingly remembered by her children; Gerald (Myrna) Schuiling, Dianne (Marty) Jansen, Arla (Del) Dargatz, grandchildren; Scott (Holly), Mark (Kathy), Doak and Ladd Schuiling, Kimberly (Brian) Lilly, Timothy Jansen, great-grandchildren; Ashley (Mitch) Erwin, Sasha Lilly, Alissia and Blake Schuiling, great great-grandchildren; Beau Minton, Draven Erwin, Addalyn Hubble, step-daughter Blythe ”Smalley” (Elliot) Metternich-Smith, many nieces, nephews and friends. Her family will always remember her love of ceramics and that she was the best cook ever. She taught all her children and daughter-in-law her many talents in the kitchen. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Plainfield United Methodist Church 214 Spencer St NE with Rev Joyce Gackler officiating. Friends and relatives may greet her family on Wednesday from 6-9 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment in Washington Park Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Paws with a Cause or Ada Bible church Deaf Ministries Fund.
